More Fall in the Kitchen

We are hosting a large family gathering for Thanksgiving this weekend. The dinner will be served buffet style so I decided to add some Fall decor to the oak buffet and hutch in our kitchen.

The kitchen shelves got a Fall makeover here and I continued the white, natural and orange colour scheme, this time using more whites and adding some sparkle with mercury glass votives and footed bowl.

My vintage kitchen scale and bread box stayed with some pinecones added for texture. A vintage crochet dresser scarf handstitched by my paternal grandmother many many years ago adds more textile softness. The simple white ceramic pumpkin with metal leaves was found at a cute shop set up at the Erin Fair last year.

I added some earthy tones with large pinecones in the footed mercury glass bowl and added orange pumpkin pie scented candles to the votive holders.

The old pudding mold bowls were found for less than a dollar each at yard sales. Simple and vintage with a touch of sparkle. One thing I have learned about our home this week is that I need more pieces with a vertical surface to decorate.
