Today is another wonderful Tablescape Thursday. This event is hosted by Susan @ Between Naps on The Porch. You will definitely want to stop by her place to see the list of everyone that is participating. There will be so many fabulous tablescapes to admire and to give you inspiration for your own tables. Don't miss out, go check it out.
Also go by and see Chandy @ What Now Tablescapes to see everyone participating in Thrifty Thursday. Chandy always has such wonderful finds to show us and so do all the other participants. You will see so many great and wonderful thrifty finds.
One of my dear friends is a wonderful little lady that will turn 90 on Friday. She doesn't look or act her age at all. I sometimes have to run to keep up with her both physically and mentally. Such a precious lady and such an inspiration for staying young at heart regardless of your age. I have invited 2 of our mutual friends to have lunch to celebrate this wonderful occasion. This is a special group because one precious lady is 55, one is 65 and one is 69 and then our birthday girl who will be 90. Such a testament to womens friendships that have no age boundaries, just a mutual love of the Lord, family and friends.
I wanted it to be a femenine tablescape and yet keep it casual. I've used my lace tablecloth again because our guest of honor kindly took it and worked her magic on it and removed all the stains from years of use. She cleans, mends and restores vintage linens for the Seniors Thrift Store. She does impeccable work.
One of our guests suffers from allergies, so I've used my little tulip basket filled with faux tulips sitting on top of my lace edged cake plate and two pink depression glass candleholders as the centerpiece.
For the table setting I am using the white chargers I found at Homegoods. The plates are from my GW shopping and the pattern says Royal Kent collection - Poland. The fruit bowls are also GW finds and says Sango fine china - Chintz. My everyday Barton Reed Stainless, with white embossed napkins I also found at GW.
The menu will be Walnut Chicken Croissant Sandwiches and Fresh Fruit Salad. The pink depression glass platter will hold the sandwiches. All the depression glass pieces were wedding gifts to my Mother and Father at their wedding in 1936. I love these pieces as much as my Mother did.
This beautiful pink depression glass bowl will hold the Fruit Salad.
I just love how the ribs start at the center and fan out to the graceful scalloped edge of the bowl.
The candleholders are a perfect match with the same lovely ribs leading to the beautiful scalloped edge. These pink depression glass pieces are such precious keepsakes to me, and I think they are beautiful.
We will have tea from my little Tulip Teapot and served in the little Tulip Cups. These are quie casual, but out guest of honor loves tulips, so I wanted to use them.
This beautiful pink depression glass compote will hold lemon wedges for the tea. I just love the embossed roses on it. I think it's really a candy dish because I do have the matching lid, but today I'm using it to hold lemons.
I'm looking forward to our lunch and the wonderful conversation and good laughs that will most certainly abound at this table. Such a blessing to have such great friends.
Thank for stopping by and visiting, I hope you have a blessed day with all your family and friends.
