Shopping & Crafting - I Found Treasures

Today I am joining Cindy @ My Romantic Home for Show and Tell. Be sure to stop by her place to see her treasures and all the others wonderful finds.
I am also linking this to Thrifty Thursday hosted by Leigh @ Tales Frpm Bloggeritaville. Be sure to check out all the wonderful bargains everyone has uncovered.

I am also linking to Jane @ Finding Fabulous For Less for Frugalicious Friday. Be sure to check out all the wonderful bargains everyone has found.

They opened a new Hobby Lobby at Arrowhead Center, so a friend and I thought we would go check it out. While we were there we also had to check out Home Goods, TJMaxx, and of course Goodwill on the way home. We had so much fun we even forgot to eat lunch. lol

I have been trying to add to my blue and white accessories, so when I saw this really cute little kitty at GW, of course she had to come home with me for $3.99.

HL was just packed full of all kinds of goodies for the grand opening, and as usual a ton of things were marked 50% off. They had quite a few things in blue and white. This precious little bunny at 50% off was $4.00.

    Isn't he just the sweetest!!!

Look at these two treasures. They are both quite large.

You know how much I love my roosters and I didn't have a blue and white one, so of course I HAD to have him. He is so sassy and at 11 inches tall a great bargain at HL for the 50% off price of $8.00.

TJMaxx had the best prices and quite a big selection of blue and white ginger jars and vases all for $9.99. I love this one and it is 15 inches tall.

My white artichoke has been so much fun to decorate with, so when I saw this pineapple at HG, it really needed to come home with me. On sale for $10.00.

When we got home I made us a sandwich and then I showed my friend how to make some really simple and fun tassels. I always use thread spools. You always have a ton of spools that the thread is almost or all gone and they are perfect, even have a hole through the center for the hanger ribbon. All you do is hot glue some ribbon to the bottom of the spool and then glue ribbon and fringe around the spool and you are done.

I made this one for the armoire in our bedroom. Just brown and yellow ribbons and some left over fringe.

No big deal, but it does give a little bit of a finishing touch to the armoire.

This one is for the china cabinet. I glued a DT gourd to the top of the spool with an eye hook inserted in the top and then spray painted the whole thing bronze. For this one I used brown with some white.

It's perfect hanging on the key to the door. Now don't look too much at all the stuff in the china cabinet. I just need more space.

I've been reading that we should pay very close attention to all the little finishing touches in our room. I think the tassel is a finishing touch.

I had a great day with my friend and found some real treasures too. I do appreciate you stopping by, and I so hope to see you again soon.
